Chin Hui Ee, Bonnie
Background
Bonnie is a graduate of the University of Liverpool and was called to the Bar of England & Wales at the Honourable Society of Middle Temple in 2019. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2022.
Bonnie speaks and writes English, Malay, and Mandarin fluently.
Experience
Bonnie has extensive experience advising on a full spectrum of financing transactions, including complex structured financing, project financing, Islamic financing, and acquisition financing. She also acts as Malaysian counsel to provide foreign legal opinions to financial institutions on the legality, enforceability, and validity of corporate guarantees issued by Malaysian companies.
In the realm of corporate and commercial, Bonnie has been involved in and assisted in numerous corporate exercises, including listing exercises, joint ventures, shareholders’ agreements, company acquisitions, and conducting legal due diligence. She has also assisted in rendering legal advice to foreign multinational corporations on Malaysian legal and regulatory requirements relating to foreign direct investment.
As part of her real estate practice, Bonnie has represented a prominent government-linked company in a sale and purchase transaction involving land valued at a very substantial value, particularly in industrial properties. She also has experience advising both local and foreign large corporations on the purchase of leases and sub-leases of lands with Malaysia Government Linked Corporations.

- Acted for various banks and financial institutions in Malaysia for the drafting and reviewing of all kinds of banking documents, including financing agreements, security documents, transaction documents, and agreements for project financing, syndicated loans, and refinancing.
- Advised local and international banks on compliance with banking regulations, including BNM Foreign Exchange Administration rules, and provided guidance on cross-border financing and asset securitisation for inbound investments.
- Acted for a local financial institution for a short-term revolving credit facility of RM300 million to finance the acquisition of lands by a renowned developer and the construction cost of any such development.
