Background

Nurhaziqah holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) from the University of Technology (UiTM) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2024. 

Experience

Nurhaziqah’s practice focuses on conveyancing, real estate, banking and finance, and corporate and commercial matters. She has experience advising developers, purchasers and financial institutions on a range of property transactions, including developer projects, commercial property transactions, property refinancing, discharge of charges, and the perfection of transfer and charge.

She also has experience in reviewing and drafting various legal documents and agreements, including Sale and Purchase Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Tenancy Agreements and Letters of Nomination. In addition, she has assisted in advising clients on matters relating to property transactions and provided legal advice on issues arising in developer and banking matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Nurhaziqah completed her pupillage with Messrs Syed Alwi, Ng & Co in Johor Bahru and was subsequently retained as a Legal Associate. During her time there, she was involved in a wide range of conveyancing matters, including developer transactions, property refinancing, discharge of charges, perfection of transfer and charge, and other property related transactions.

    • Handled conveyancing matters for property developers in various development projects, including projects with and without title, and assisted with related documentation.
    • Advised developers and prospective purchasers on the sale and purchase of commercial properties and Tenancy Agreements.
    • Assisted clients with the transfer of properties under Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration, including the preparation of relevant documentation.
    • Assisted local and foreign purchasers with the perfection of transfer and charge upon the issuance of individual or strata titles.
    • Advised clients on estate planning and the importance of having a will, and prepared wills tailored to their individual requirements and circumstances.
    • Prepared and reviewed Sale and Purchase Agreements for transactions between individuals and companies, including ensuring compliance with the relevant condition precedent for the property.
  • Assisted in the drafting and review of various commercial agreements, including Letters of Nomination and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
  • Provided legal opinions to financial institutions on their interests and legal position in complex legal issues arising from a significant development project.
  • Prepared, drafted, and reviewed conventional and Islamic financing documentation and related documentation for corporate borrowers or customers.
  • Acted for individual borrowers and customers in discharge of charge and deed of receipt and reassignment transactions, managing the preparation of transaction documents and liaising with banks and relevant Land Offices to ensure timely completion.
  • Attended to property refinancing transactions involving individual borrowers, including reviewing and preparing the requisite security documentation and liaising with the relevant banks and existing chargees to progress the transactions.

  • Assisted in the legal due diligence exercise of Malaysian subsidiaries of a China-based company and contributed to the issuance of a formal legal opinion.
  • Participated in corporate restructuring and the merger and acquisition of twelve Malaysian entities.
  • Supported cross-border equity acquisitions and disposals, with responsibilities spanning the preparation of share sale agreements, shareholder agreements, confidentiality agreements, and due diligence reports.
  • Drafted, negotiated, and reviewed cross-border distributorship, supply, and service agreements between Chinese and Malaysian entities.
  • Assisted in the preparation of conventional and Islamic financing documentation for domestic transactions for corporate borrowers and customers.
  • Assisted in preparing financing documentation for banking facilities of approximately RM20 million, comprising fixed-term loans, bank guarantees, and forward exchange contracts, granted to a renowned property developer for the construction and development of a condominium project in Johor Bahru.
  • Contributed to the preparation of financing documentation for an additional RM6 million in banking facilities, further supporting the developer's project financing needs.
